If you have a special day coming up, then I suggest this meal! It is definitely one of my favorites :-)
This may cost a bit over our "college budget" but it's totally worth it! The meal is NICE....JUICY....STEAK!!!
First you'll go to your local store and pick out the kind of steak that you like. I picked Sirloin. Now the rest is easy! I added, salt, pepper, and garlic, pretty simple, right? Now, cook it! I cooked it on a pan on the stove, but you can also cook it on the BBQ pit, but that's all up to you. Now cook for at least 5 mins. I enjoy my steak medium. You can add mushrooms if you like, or anything else that you crave! Here is my masterpiece....
Hope yours comes out just as delicious! :)

Tostadas!
This is a simple meal that anyone will be able to do, especially college students! (I would know)
I'm sure you've heard about it, it's Tostadas! A delicious Mexican entree.

First you are going to fry the corn tortillas on oil in a pan. Make sure they are crispy! Also, the next ingredient is refried beans, so make sure they are smashed and ready to go. Spread beans on the tortilla and add your favorite toppings. I enjoy tomato, lettuce, and cheese. To add more flavor, you can add chile! Of course, it is too spicy for me...
Mexican Style
I'm sure some of you have tasted Conchita soup from a bag, but this is even better, because it is homemade! This is what you'll need to complete the recipe.
So first, you're going to have to golden the conchita shells on oil. While that is going on, you can peel and slice the potatoes. Also, you have to cut the beef into cubes. Make sure to add onion and green bell pepper. Now you can also add the spices that are shown above. It's important to add 6 cups of water and then mix ingredients together. Cook on medium for 25 mins. You should get a nice warm meal for the whole family to enjoy!

MORE LEFTOVERS
So it is about 3 weeks after Thanksgiving and I'm sure there are more people (like me) who have turkey leftovers. IT'S NEVER ENDING TURKEY. Well, I have another solution for you all, so you wont keep tasting the same old boring turkey. My solution for you is to make a Turkey Pot Pie, my how country! Am I right?
First of all, it is important that you shred the turkey and once that is done, you're going to mix the shredded turkey and the mixed vegetables (that can be bought in the frozen aisle). Also you're going to add the cream of mushroom and then mix everything together. Once that is done, you can add biscuits and place them on top of the turkey pot pie. Now you can add your creation into the oven at 375 degrees and cook for 25 mins. This should be the result!
Enjoy your meal! :-)

Turkey Leftovers? Don't worry, I have a recipe for that!
So if you're like my family, you're going to have turkey leftovers for Thanksgiving and some get tired of the same old turkey (me). Here is how you can spice it up a bit. If you're Hispanic, then this recipe should look familiar, if you're not, no worries, you'll enjoy it! The meal is Flautas!
It consists of turkey (or meat of your choice), corn tortillas, oil, and toothpicks (don't eat).
First you're going to shred the turkey, then fry corn tortilla on oil for a bit. Once that is done, you're going to put turkey on the tortillas, roll them up and secure with a toothpick. After that, you are ready to deep fry them! The trick is to not burn them! And there you have it, FLAUTAS!

MAKE SURE TO TAKE OUT TOOTHPICK BEFORE EATING. You can also have sides to dip the Flautas into. I chose sour cream, chile, and avocado. ENJOY your masterpiece :-)
Another Casserole!
I swear this is the last casserole....it's the Green Bean Casserole! My family just really love casseroles for Thanksgiving. This recipe is as simple as the other one!
It consists of milk, black pepper, cheese, green beans, cream of mushroom, soy sauce, and crispy fried onions. First you're going to pour all the ingredients together and then heat up in the oven at 325 degrees for for 20 minutes. After it is done heating up, you will sprinkle some more crispy fried onions on top. IT'S THAT SIMPLE. Here is the finished product!

Rice and Broccoli Casserole
Another side that I made for Thanksgiving was Rice and Broccoli Casserole, which is another simple recipe. ARE YOU READY?!
For the ingredients you will need rice, broccoli, cream of mushroom, and cheese.
First of all you'll need to boil the rice for about 10 minutes, and then steam broccoli for 20 minutes. Once that is done, it is time to pour the cream of mushroom, broccoli, and cheese into hot rice, then mix them together. Put it in the oven for 15 minutes at 325 degrees. Once it is done heating up, you can also add more cheese on top, if you like. Your dish should look something like this.
Simple, yet very tasty! I've learned that there are easy meals to make, especially if you don't know anything about cooking. Good Luck with your rice and broccoli casserole! :-)

The difference between mashed potatoes & pea soup....Anybody can mash potatoes!
On my last post, I made turkey for Thanksgiving, but you can't have turkey without some sides. Here is a simple side that anyone could do, it's mashed potatoes! HOPE YOU'RE EXCITED! So this isn't your regular instant mashed potatoes from a box, this is the homemade kind.
Peel the potatoes, boil them for 20 mins, and then mush them. Once they are mushed, you can add your favorite toppings. I added sour cream, Philadelphia cream cheese and butter. They came out delicious and a little creamy, just the way I like it. Of course you can do it the way you like though!
Here is a picture of the mashed potatoes.

Turkey Lurkey Time
Thanksgiving was just around the corner and I attempted to try to make the turkey this year, it went....okay. So it was my first time cooking such a complicated meal (I probably wont do that again). I was in charge of the turkey, which is basically the main course for Thanksgiving.
I mainly just stuffed up the turkey with stuffing and put butter all over it. It seems simple, but it was quite complicated...for me. I then placed it in the oven for 3 hours. My mother was hovering over me to make sure that I didn't mess anything up though. For my first time, it came out pretty good. But never again will I be in charge of this...too much pressure!

Did you hear about the Italian Chef that died? He PASTA way.
So this blog is kind of like my last one....I'm making pasta! But this time with a different kind of sauce, just in case you're not a fan of the other one.
I used the same kind of noodles, just a different sauce. So you boil the noodles until they stick to the wall (Don't know if that really works), if you don't want to throw pasta on the wall, just feel the noodles every now and then until they feel not too soft and not too hard. Once that is done, drain the water and add the sauce of your choice. You can add other toppings, if you like. This is how mine came out.
I added some meat to make it more delicious, but you don't have to! Like the other one, this one also came out really good. You'll have food for days, if you made a big batch like I did. Enjoy your pasta! :-)
What do you call a fake noodle? An IMPASTA
Alright....so as you know by now I'm not the greatest at cooking, which is why I'm trying to learn! So I'm here to let you know how my journey is going and maybe even helping you with some recipes, in case you're kind of like me....a college student who can't cook. How will we survive on our own?! Don't worry, I got your back.
I made this easy and fast dish that anyone will be able to do....it's pasta! So you can choose any type of noodles and sauce of your choice. Basically just boil the noodles until it is nicely cooked, not too hard and not too soft. Drain the water and add the sauce. If you're feeling really fancy, you can add mushrooms or vegetables of your choice.
This is how mine came out...
I added mushrooms and a little bit of chicken to give it some more flavor. It actually came out really good. So now, you know how to make pasta, you can now call up your friends and cook for them, or eat all of it by yourself (I did).

Easy As Pie
So sometimes, you have to make easy meals, ESPECIALLY for someone like me. I learned to make chicken in the oven and it was so simple! All you really need is the chicken and a spice of your choice. This was mine.
So once I picked my spice, I dabbed some on the chicken and put it in the oven to cook.
I put the chicken in the oven for like 40 mins. You've got to make sure it is fully cooked and there's not blood coming out. This was one of the easiest meals that I've learned and there is probably no way to ruin it....unless you burn it. But if I could do it, then so can you! Good Luck!

A Fancy Dish (Kind of)
So I decided to make one of my favorite things to eat, which I didn't think would be so complicated....It was. Well, for me. This dish felt like a level 5 of cooking and I'm still a level 1...a beginner. The fancy dish is Chicken Cordon Bleu.
This is most of the ingredients that it consist of and OF COURSE the chicken!
I had to flatten out the chicken, so it wouldn't be very thick, and them I put the ham and cheese, and wrapped it. It was secured with a toothpick. Once they are wrapped, I soaked them in an egg and then rubbed in on the bread crumbs. I continued to follow those steps til all the chicken was gone.
After that, I put them in the oven and waited for results!
They came out of the oven like this. It wasn't quite what I expected. I thought they would look like the ones at Weddings and Quinces, but nonetheless they still had a good flavor. I'm going to try to continue to perfect this, but until then, I will keep fudging up food.

A Midnight Snack
As I was scrolling through Facebook, I found this video from Buzzfeed, where they make Monkey bread (Not sure if that's the actual name) and it basically looks like a bundt cake. It looked interesting to make, so of course I tried it. Check out my cooking journey!
You've got to open the biscuit container (which is pretty scary) and cut the biscuit dough in half. Once it is cut in half, you put some of the Hershey kisses in them and some cream cheese, and wrap them up into a little ball. You also have the put that ball and mix it with brown sugar and butter. Once done with that, you place in a bundt cooking pan. Then sprinkle some walnuts. You end up with this...
Once you're finished placing all of them in, you put it in the oven and wait for results!
Surprisingly, it actually came out nice...and it was quite delicious, but a tab bit too sweet for me. Make sure you eat it with milk...and ENJOY :)

Can you burn boiling water?
I guess you can say, I really don't know my way around the kitchen. My motto is basically, if I can make it in the microwave, then of course I'll cook it. Lately I've been thinking that I'm a 20 year old college student who can only make Ramen and pork-chops, like how will I ever survive on my own?!
On that note, I decided to attempt to make food...edible food...for once. On today's menu it was Lasagna Roll-Ups, it's basically just lasagna...but fancy.
Well you have to boil the water first and it turns out that I didn't really know how to boil water, who would've known? The recipe seemed easy, so of course I didn't follow it, until I was stressed out and didn't know what step to do next. I had a rocky start, but it all seemed to work out in the end. My noodles did taste hard though and the parts that didn't look presentable, I just covered it with cheese.
As you can see, my Lasagna Roll-Ups didn't look as appealing as the ones on pinterest, but whatever...I tried!
P.S. - Other blogs of me "fudging up food" will be coming soon! I'm sure I'll get this "cooking thing" right eventually...well, hopefully!
